Mike Halford at Pro Hockey Talk reports that Shane Doan is looking for a 4-year, $30 million contract if he doesn’t re-sign with the Coyotes.
Halford adds that some sources predict he’ll come close to getting it.
…have some of these owners forgotten that Doan is 36! And these same guys are actually pleading poverty during CBA negotiations. Unreal.
…if Sather caves to Doan’s demands he will have lost all the good will he has created for himself the last three years.
Meanwhile Rick Nash is already getting on my good side by proving he’s coming to New York wanting to win by stating his happiness that the Rangers were able to get him without breaking up their core (Pro Hockey Talk)…
“I didn’t want them to blow up the nucleus of the team and the players that are going to make them good. That’s the reason why I wanted to come. I’m happy (with) the way it worked out. I thought Columbus got two great players and a prospect. I thought the trade worked out for both organizations.”
…absolutely love this. He makes a great point that if the Rangers had giving away a number of young, stud players to get him he’d be stuck playing for another franchise with no future. Kudos Rick.
