Devils 1, Rangers 0

The New York Rangers (31-25-4) lost to the New Jersey Devils (24-30-4) by the score of 1-0, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

…this is probably going to be a short recap because when the Rangers only have 15 shots on goal there’s really not much to write about.

…seriously the Devils have been running the trap on the Rangers for the last 15 years. Can they figure the stupid thing out already?

…wonder if Lemaire could give Gaborik the same talk he gave Kovalchuk.

…love how Torts finally puts Avery back on a line with Gaborik, they generate the team’s first scoring chance in a period and then splits them up again. Why?

…can we please start scoring on empty nets please. Yes I’m looking at you Erik “Only in the Shootout” Christensen and MDZ.

…nice to see MZA back at 15 minutes of ice time tonight. Didn’t do much with them, but at least Torts isn’t phasing him out.

…game could have been over early of it wasn’t for Hank.

…not going to kill Staal for his misplay, he’s probably exhausted after playing 29 minutes last night followed by 29 more tonight. He played more minutes than Gilroy and Del Zotto combined tonight. Second game of back-to-backs should mean spreading out the ice time.

…10 games without a goal and counting for Wolski. I’m starting to think the Rangers got fleeced on the Rozsival deal. Nah.

…Prust is a warrior for playing through all these injuries, but you have to wonder if a few games off might do him and the team some good.

…no offense to the kid, but I think Stepan might set a record for worst face-off percentage in NHL history (0-for-2 tonight).

…off tomorrow than Philly on Sunday afternoon at MSG.
