A Possible Lead in Ranger Fan Assault Case (Updated)

Update, 2:01 p.m.:
Due to the continued amazing work by Kyle Scott over at Crossing Broad, the face of the attacker has been revealed…

Make sure you guys are thanking Kyle over at Crossing Broad.

Original Post:
Kyle Scott over at Crossing Broad was able to get in contact with the guy who filmed the assault of two Rangers fans, including cop and veteran Neal Auricchio, by a group of Flyers fans outside Gino’s Steaks in Philadelphia after the Winter Classic Monday night.

After the guy, who Scott called Lou, recounted the event, including saying a 3-1 ratio of Rangers fans watched the incident with none of them assisting or calling 9-11, he gave this possible tip…

“The Flyers guys were hanging out at the bar, across from Geno’s, so police should go there and ask for some info, like if he used his credit card at that bar [Kyle Scott’s note: most likely South Philly Bar & Grill], or anything that can get his name. I’ll remember what they look like [if] I see them.”

Lou added that he regretted putting the video on YouTube.

…since this is obviously a Flyers fan’s account of the incident I’m not going to kill the Rangers fans witnessing the assault, but if true that’s a bad job allowing a fellow Blueshirts fan to take a beating like that.

…great job by Scott getting this vital information.

Meanwhile updates us on Auricchio’s condition as he’s now able to open his eye and plans on returning to work with the Woodbrige Police Department on Monday.
