Gaborik to Senators? (Updated)

Arthur Staple at Newsday reminds us that Gaborik has a no-trade clause that includes Ottawa.

Original Post:
Ken Warren and Allen Panzeri of the Ottawa Citizen report that Marian Gaborik was attached to the Senators in talks speculating about possible trades last week.

They add that the Senators likely wouldn’t have any interest unless the Rangers took defenseman Filip Kuba, who has one year and $3.7 million remaining on his deal with the Senators.

Senators general manager Bryan Murray didn’t address Gaborik specifically Thursday, but did acknowledge that the team is exploring the possibility of trading for a top six forward.

…nothing better than the crazy rumors around the free agancy deadline. Why in the world would the Rangers be looking to trade Gaborik if they are serious players in the Brad Richards talks? Who is he going to pass the puck to?

…i know Gaborik had a tough year last season but he is just one year removed from a 42 goal season. And bringing back Kuba? No thanks.
