TMZ has more…
“According to law enforcement sources, a neighbor called police to complain about the noise coming from Avery’s home. When police arrived at about 1:00 AM, we’re told Avery answered the door … then shoved a cop and slammed the door behind him.”
TMZ adds that Police then knocked again, andAvery came to his senses and opened up. Avery was extremely cooperative after that, but was still booked for battery on a peace officer.
…while it’s great that Avery came to his senses, if you push a cop you are going to jail.
NBC New York is reporting that Sean Avery was arrested and charged with battery on a police office earlier this morning after Los Angeles Police responded to noise complaints at Avery’s Hollywood home at about 1 a.m. and arrested him. It wasn’t known what prompted the alleged assault on the officer.
…while I don’t want to speculate until all the facts are out, you have to wonder how this is going to effect Avery’s standing with the team. I know Sather & Avery have a very good relationship but this just might be too much for the Rangers to handle.
