Weise Back to the Whale

weiseNewyorkrangers.com reports that the Rangers have returned Dale Weise to the Connecticut Whale.

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants says Weise was sent back to the Whale because the Rangers don’t play again until Thursday and the Rangers AHL affiliate has two games in that time span.

John Tortorella on Weise’s NHL debut…

“I liked him,” said coach John Tortorella, adding he did not realize it was Weise’s NHL debut. “Carcillo has opportunities to fight other people out there and he decides to pick on Weise. I thought he did a really good job in his fight. Other than his first shift, him and Sean (Avery) struggled there. He had some plays behind net. I thought handled himself well.”

Weise on his debut…

“My first shift was five seconds long, not enough to get the butterflies out,” Weise said. “It’s a good day for my buddies back home. I get to tell them I fought Dan Carcillo.”

…not only did he fight Carcillo, I thought he beat him as well.
